Tūkōkeke Kāinga Māori - a finalist for the Social Impact Award

We have 15 houses fully tenanted at Tūkōkeke Te Pahitaua, a further 16 houses due for completion at Kawarehe in October 2026, with Stage 2 at Kawarehe now underway to build a further 16 houses in partnership with Kawarehe Trust.

I am both pleased and humbled to announce that Te Tohu o Te Ora o Ngāti Awa are finalists in the Infrastructure NZ Building Nations Awards 2026 to be announced in August.

Social Impact Award

This award recognises projects which have deliveredoutstanding social outcomes through collaboration with Māori, stakeholders andcommunities. The approach to collaboration and the tangible outcomes achievedraises the bar in delivering best practice in improving social outcomes andserves as a model for future projects.
